North Carolina Community Engagement Survey

The ncIMPACT Initiative at the UNC School of Government is proud to be a supporter of the NC Community Engagement Survey along with the NC Rural Center, the NC Association of County Commissioners, and the NC League of Municipalities. The survey is a shared resource among project partners seeking to generate and analyze local community health.

What if you could have real-time data on the economic and social well-being of your community?

What if you could have real-time data on the economic and social well-being of your community?

  • The North Carolina Community Engagement Survey was launched by the NC Pandemic Recovery Office.

  • It is conducted by researchers at East Carolina University.

  • The survey provides a real-time snapshot of regional and local trends in overall well-being and specific quality-of-life topics like housing, food access, and child care.

  • The results can help leaders more clearly identify problem areas as they emerge so they know how to focus their efforts and resources.

  • Each month participants receive a new survey by e-mail. The questions ask how conditions have improved or declined in the last 30 days and since COVID-19 began.

  • Following each survey, ECU researchers crunch the numbers and provide detailed analysis that anyone can access online.
